When you mix classic styling with modern performance, you get the Norton Dominator Cafe Racer. The Dominator is a true production cafe racer. Additionally, Norton also built the the Dominator SS which was a limited production run of 50 bikes. Norton wanted to build a true high performance production cafe racer after their success with the Domiracer. The result was this outstanding example of what happens when you mix classic cafe styling with modern components.
The beauty of most early Nortons were their engines. The Dominator keeps with that classic Norton styling while upgrading its components. The engine is a 961cc parallel air/oil cooled twined. The ignition is a crank fired setup with electronic fuel injection. The engine puts out approximately 78hp with its stainless exhaust system and has that signature Norton sound. Although the pipes are said t be a bit loud for some people, aftermarket pipes are available.

Some of the most noticeable upgrades are in the suspension and braking. To keep the front tire on the ground, the Dominator uses a set of Ohlin Black Line USD Forks. The forks offer adjustable pre-load, compression and rebound damping. In the rear, an Ohlin TTX 36 mono shock setup keeps the power to the ground. The Ohlins TTX series of shocks has been race tested and proven on the track for years. On the brakes Norton has spared no expense. Furthermore, the front brakes are a set of Brembo Monobloc radial calipers grabbing a set of 320mm fully floating carbon stainless rotors. To add to all this stopping power, a Brembo radial brake master cylinder is up top. I have personally used the Brembo radial masters on most of my builds and love their performance.
As a result of the Brembo components, the rider can rest assure they can stop when needed. In conclusion, the Norton Dominator is a great example of vintage styling mixed with modern performance. While the power might be a bit lacking, it is more than sufficient to go ripping up the twisties. The high performance Ohlins and Brembo components will provide you with the best performing setup around.
