Pepo Rosell is the man behind this XTR Pepo Ducati 860GT. You might be familiar with his work already, as he was the owner of Radical. One of the leading custom Ducati builders in the world. After shutting down Radical Ducati a few years ago, Pepo is back at it better then ever under his new company XTR Pepo.
This XTR Pepo Ducati is one of the best examples of a classic vintage racer we have seen. The Ducati 860GT platform used was only produced for 2 years, from 1974 to 1975. The unique styling attributes of the bike like the tank and engine covers, were the creation of Giorgetto Giugiaro. This gave the 860GT its distinctive looks.
To Pepo, looks are great but performance is his true goal. The 860GT’s suspension left much to be desired, so the front suspension were upgraded with a set of modern forks from a Triumph Daytona. The stock rear shocks were ditched for a set of upgraded Rolling shocks. The brakes were upgraded with a Brembo master cylinder and Beringer calipers up front.
The true heart and soul of this bike is the engine. Pepo being the leader Ducati builder in the world, spares no expense here. The 860GT’s engine has port and polished heads. To help the heads breather, a Dell’Orto PHM 40mm carburetor was fitted. Additionally, to enhance the performance and the distinctive Ducati sound, a custom Supermario aluminum under tail exhaust is used. As a result, you get a clean looking, high performance vintage engine ready to rip up the track.
This is one of the most beautiful examples of a vintage racer that we have seen. We won’t expect anything less from the world renowned Ducati builder XTR Pepo. To view more of his builds and stunning work, visit his website at –>> XTR PEPO
