We just love seeing the builds that come out of Pepo Rosell’s shop XTR Pepo. HIs lastest build is a BMW R NineT named “Raid” that pays tribute to Hubert Auriol. Auriol is a legendary racer of the Paris-Dakar race with wins in both the motorcycle and car classes. His wins in the motorcycle class were on a BMW R80G/S in both 1981 and 1983. Pepo wanted to pay tribute in a modern way so his choice was the BMW R nineT platform.
In paying tribute, Pepo wanted to turn the R nineT into a bike that was comfortable to ride on long distances just like the R80G/S. Getting rid of the stock tank, he used an actual R80G/S tank that has a much larger capacity at 26 liters. A set of accossato scrambler style handlebars were used for a more upright and comfortable riding position. To top the controls off, one of the amazing Motogadge digital speedos were added.
To help lighten the bike up a bit, a couple of OEM items were ditched. A super lightweight LIPO battery was swapped in for the heaving stock one. Stock airbox completely removed and a set of DNA filters were installed. An XTR custom fabricated 2 into 1 exhaust systems with a Sil Motor muffler was installed. Custom made rear mudflap was installed along with a Luis Moto front fender.
Time and time again, we fall in love with XTR builds. Be sure to head over to the XTR Pepo website and social media pages to follow all his amazing builds. He has so many of them, that you might loose track of time staring at them all.
