Simon Dabadie of Dab Designs has flown onto to the custom motorcycle scene in the last few years. Before starting Dab Deisgns, Simon was a 3-D Printer who was skill sin prototyping working with such industry greats as Roland Sands Designs, Deus Ex Machina, Holographic Hammer and many more. With the launch of Dab Designs comes this Dab LM #1 Street Tracker which will be a production line of 10 models.
Simon has a very unique way of designing bikes that most will never know. While most of us start by chopping up a frame and laying down some cardboard templates, Simon uses technology. Starting with a donor bike, he uses advanced 3D scanning equipment and scans every inch of the bike. Once the scans are done, they are converted into drawings where he creates 3D renderings of the final product.
From those 3D renderings, Simon is able to create 3D molds of the actual parts which he is going to build. These parts such as the front number plate are then made using the mold and what ever material he desires. In this case, he went with a Carbon Fiber material and that is gloss coated. The front number plate is somewhat translucent hiding the front headlight behind it.
We can also see that his influences are drawn from Supermoto bikes. The LM #1 is finished off with a set of 17″ Excel Spoked Wheels wrapped with Pirelli Supercorsas tires. This bike definitely has that Street Tracker look with a hint of Supermoto styling in it. I can wait to see what other limited production bikes he dreams up. Be sure to head over to his website and social media pages to checkout his builds.
