Portugal’s It Rocks!Bikes has been creating some awesome builds. Their builds have a very distinct monocoque body designs which has set them apart and our favorite feature. This BMW R80 Cafe Racer is no exception and the bodywork flows perfectly.
As you will find with most of their builds, the bodywork is inline with their monocoque style. The one piece design is hand fabricated out of aluminum sheeting. In the rear, the subframe was fabricated to flow perfectly with the bodywork and convert the R80 to a monoshock design. The swingarm is a single sided setup off a BMW R1100 RS for some added performance.
Wanting to completely transform the performance of this machine, they then turned to the engine. The engine has been bumped up to a 1000cc from the 800cc stock specs. Carbs were updated with a set of pod filters and clean simple 2 into 2 exhaust was made.
After all the engine mods were decided, the electrical and instrumentation was next. The only choice was Motogadget. The electrical harness was replacement with the Motogadget M-Unit and M-Lock keyless fab system. Turn signals are the Motogadget M-Blaze Disc barends and the gauge cluster is the Motoscope Pro dash mounted to a custom made bracket. Just about every bolt on part to this bike is Motogadet with the exception of the LSL Rearsets.
Overall, this is one of my all time favorite BMW R builds out there. Vintage bike with modern looks and technology. Be sure to head over to It Rocks!Bikes website and social media pages for more of their awesome builds. You will not be disappointed by their unique monocoque bodied builds.
