Over the past several years, Ironwood Custom Motorcycles has quickly grabbed the attention of the industry. Some of their first builds have been stunning BMW customs but they have branched out into other bikes such as Hondas. This 78′ Honda CX500 Cafe Racer is a perfect example of their simplistic and function designs. Stripped down to the bare minimal, yet having the classic cafe racer styling seems to be their forte.
They first took the frame and modified the sub-frame with a tail hoop and integrated tail light. The stock seat was scrapped for a Brat style seat which we think flows nicely with the cafe lines. The stock tank was used and painted in a vibrant vintage green color. The rear shocks were replaced and the front forks lower by 10 cm to improve the stance. To finish the bike off, a set of black powder coated mufflers were installed on a set of wrapped headers. I bet this thing sounds pretty badass.
Be sure to head over to their website and following them on social media for their updated builds. Their newest builds are some of the most popular customs arounds from their BMW R100’s to more CX5000 Cafe Racers.
