In today’s day and age, 3D printed have exploded with everything from motorcycle parts, to medical devices and now helmets. A recent article on CNBC shows that the NFL has been testing helmet that are 3D printed based on scans of the players head. This could be an amazing advancement for all sports and the power sports industry. How cool would it be to have a 3D printed helmet based on precise scans of your head?
This technology, although is still relatively new for helmets it seems, could have a huge impact on the increased safety of players and riders. Safety regulations and approvals would take some time with testing, but I think this might be the next big thing in Helmet design and manufacturing.
